Discretization-Strategy-Based Solution for Berth Allocation and Quay Crane Assignment Problem

The continuous berth allocation and quay crane assignment problem considers the size of berths ships, number cranes, dynamic ships non-crossing constraints cranes. In this work, a mixed-integer linear programming model is established, aiming at minimizing total stay time delay penalty ships. To solve model, separated into discrete segments via proposed discretization strategy. Thereafter, large neighborhood search algorithm composed random removal operator relaxed sorting-based insertion backtracking comparison-based constraint repair strategy are proposed. effectiveness presented verified real-life instances with different characteristics, performances combinations operators in algorithmic framework analyzed. Numerical results show that can optimally small-scale reasonable time. Meanwhile, large-scale incorporating more efficient than other genetic algorithms based on optimization. With approach, high-quality be obtained efficiently.
